The Alpenglow Team

Alpenglow Expeditions was founded in 2004, and we have led expeditions on every peak from Mount Elbrus, Russia; to Chamonix, France; and to Everest, Makalu and Lhotse in Nepal. We have over ten years of guiding experience and we are willing to teach you the necessary mountain skills so that you can successfully trek Kilimanjaro. When we tell you that we have got you covered, we mean it.

Alpenglow is prepared. Our experience translates to safety, predictability, and credibility. With this assurance in mind, you can focus on the majestic experience of climbing Kilimanjaro.

Alpenglow’s lead guides are AMGA certified:

The AMGA’s Mountain Guide Certification is the highest level of credential attainable by a professional mountain guide, and is an achievement recognized in more than 20 International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA) member countries. All of our expeditions and climbs are led by AMGA/IFMGA certified guides. While this certification has long been essential for guides working in Europe, Canada, and New Zealand, Alpenglow is the first major guide service in the USA to require this certification from our lead guides. To earn an internationally recognized AMGA certification a guide must succeed in completing all of the exams in three disciplines: rock, alpine, and ski mountaineering. AMGA certification is the highest level of credential attainable by a mountain guide and takes years of full-time guiding and climbing to attain. Alpenglow’s lead guides are IFMGA certified:

The AMGA  Guide Program includes three certification streams: Alpine, Rock, and Ski Mountaineering. Alpenglow has completed all three disciplines, and became  IFMGA Mountain Guides, able to work wherever IFMGA Mountain Guides are permitted. {leave or take out?]
